Summary of the PCAST Report on Revitalizing the U.S. Semiconductor Ecosystem

In this talk, I will summarize the PCAST report on Revitalizing the U.S. Semiconductor Ecosystem (https://www.whitehouse.gov/pcast/documents-reports/), that I contributed to as a part of the Working Group on Semiconductors. This report provides recommendations on how to invest the funding dedicated to semiconductor R&D in the recently passed CHIPS and Science Act. In particular, I will talk about the research agenda set forth in the report, how that relates to our work in the Agile Hardware Center, and some promising future research directions that we can investigate.
